I am seriously sitting here…planning my meals for the next six months.
OK, contemplating it, but I am so excited I wanted to share. For the past 5 months, I have been planning our meals for an entire month. Quite easy. I picked our favorite recipes, placed them on 3 days of the week, picked a new meal to try each week…and Friday was pizza night (Daddy is in charge of pizza night). Saturdays, left over from Friday and Sunday is usually sandwiches/stew or a roast in the crock pot. In other words, I pretty much take the weekend off from serious cooking. That then, gives me our monthly grocery shopping list and I hit 3-4 stores, coupons and kids in hand. For me, it was fun. For the kids…it was fun, well most of the time.
NOW… I have a new freezer in my garage. It is now stocked with meats and veggies from Blue Ribbon Foods. Their meats are all natural, no steroids, no growth hormones, no preservatives or chemicals. That means, no more buying in bulk, waiting in line, coming home, pulling out the freezer bags and spending an HOUR putting everything in the freezer! It took me 15 minutes to inventory everything as our wonderful delivery man unloaded…a freezer and all of the food!
Milk and Eggs….ok, those are taken care of by Carlton Farms. It’s fun picking them up in the back parking lot. The kids get a kick out of seeing the lable on the milk. It’s raw and labeled for Pet Consumption. But, it’s milk the way God intended!
Bread….I mill/bake two loaves every other day! I LOVE baking bread and my little guy likes helping Mom! My grains, etc are purchased from The Bread Beckers. If you ever get a chance to attend one of their classes at a seminar or in Woodstock…..it would really be worth your while! You will never eat bread from a store again……and you may truly find the reason you have health problems from lupus to sinus infections.
Why is all of this important? Look around. I do not remember having friends with Diabetes when I was a child…I don’t remember ADD/ADHD. I don’t remember eating at fast food restaurants every week. I remember waiting for dinner to be ready….maybe a little hungry, but I had to wait. No chips, no sodas. My Mom knew it was not good for us…and we could not afford it. So, we have made a decision to feed our children nutritious, safe and healthy food. As we eat more food the way it was designed to be eaten…not processed…we are eating less. We have fewer cravings and I am kicking my coffee/chocolate addiction! OK..I want some every now and then, but I can honestly say…I don’t feel like I have to have it any more! I hope you’ll join me in feeding your family food that is healthy. Sue Becker says it best….eat food the way God created it…not the way man did. There is no way we can possibly create food better than our creator.
disclaimer: I have not received any payment or free products for this post. This is truly a post from my heart. However, if you do decide to call Blue Ribbon Foods, please reference my name…a little extra discount will show up on my monthly bill….and if your friends do the same for you, you will, as well!

Ok I have a question! First a comment! You go girl!!! I am very impressed by your stand with your food/health! You are right on track and you seem to have very fine recources! Praise the Lord. We use to have a great source for getting Raw milk and because of the recent ban on selling it, our sources have dried up. I am just now trying to take seriously making my own bread but it is coming along! I haven't heard about Blue Ribbon, there may not be one this far north. I currently have a source for organic beef, but I think the poultry could get expensive without having a good place to go for it. I just wanted to say kudos to you, and keep up the amazing job! You are so right on track with your food. Now I am a bit motivated to plan my meals further in advance because of this post! Thanks
