This beautiful world we live in is filled with so many wonderful people and places to meet and see! Have you ever jumped in the car and driven a long distance with your family, rather than flying in a plane.
As a child, my family never traveled a great distance. However, at the age of 19, newly married, my young husband and I drove from NC to AZ. The sites were beautiful….but, I did not see God’s hands at work because I did not really see him.
On May 21st, we jumped in our car…and began our 10 day adventure. The first leg of our trip took us from Ga, up 75 to Indiana. The scenery was breath-taking. We saw God’s glory as we traveled through the majestic mountains of the Appalachians and the new crops beginning to sprout in the farm lands.
We also saw the impact of the original sin through the devastation of the tornadoes…..and the fields that can not be prepared due to flooding!
As we were driving and our children noticed the beautiful scenery speckled with the horrifying sites of devastation….their questions became anxious….and I was thankful for my life-verse and the many words God has planted in my heart over the past few years. I heard his voice echoing through my heart and mind. His words…coursing through my veins and through his words…we were able to calm our children and help them remember his love and his promise for the future.
As we drove and his words came to my heart and mind….I grabbed my Bible….it was beside me….and I read these words to my children…….
He says,”Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
