This is what you see at our house….every Friday night.

We play games

Do you?

I did not grow up playing games…my brother is 7 years older than me…and well, we just didn’t play games…

BUT, we love playing games here.  It can be a challenge, though…finding a fun game that is easy

Thanks so much to being on the Old School House Crew, we now have a new favorite – Flea Circus from R & R Games

Price:  15.99

Intended for children 6 and up (2-6 players)

How do you play?

GREAT question!

Every player gets 5 cards and you place all of the cats and the dogs (they are your spectators) in the middle.  Each card has a different character from the Circus that tells you how many points you get to take from the pile.

Each player selects a card and displays it in from of them…this is your SHOW.  Based on your show, you get to select a Spectator from another player or from the middle of the playing area.

A spectator is a dog or a cat.  Dogs are worth 2 points and cats are worth 1 point.  So, if you pick up a card that has a flea flying out of a canon and another player has that same card on top of their show, you take spectators from them based on the number of the card.  If no one else has that card…you select your spectators from the center pile.

Now, no game would be fun without some tricky cards…so you have to be on the look out for the Animal Cather…he keeps the game going….and really interesting!

The game ends when a player collects the last spectator from the middle.  The winner…is the person with the most points (from their spectators!)

We have had so much fun playing this game…. Our children have had a blast teaching it to their friends…and I’ve enjoyed watching them learn new strategies and this fun game, that has allowed them to become the teacher!

We love it because we can help our little guy, while teaching him math.  Our older children are learning strategy and we just sit around and laugh a LOT!

I have also found that I can use these as manipulatives with our math curriculum:  Addition, Subtractions, Multiplication and Division….and the kids just love playing with them.

I am impressed with the box…that provides good/easy storage…that is always a PLUS!

R&R Games Inc has many fun games that your family will enjoy:  Hey Waiter! , Pressure Point ,M asters of Venice and Many more!  AND….they are offering you a Special 20% discount on ANY order until 12/31/11!  Just use this code:  CREW20
