While the summer has been rainy, we have enjoyed some fun adventures in the car and at home with The Brinkman Adventures. We were blessed to receive all 4 Cds (they currently have available) at the Teach Them Diligently Conference in Nashville to review.
My whole family fell head over heels in love with their adventures.
We began our first Adventure on our way home from Nashville. Everyone was quickly pulled into the story about the Brinkman family and the trip to a small town in Russia. We were spell bound with the danger, intrigue and awesome way God used a little girl to change the heart of a town. I must admit, we had a difficult time pausing the CD long enough to eat dinner in a restaurant. We were very tempted to just get the food and go (but, I needed a break from driving). When we arrived home, the first story had just ended and my children were quite upset because we did not have a cd player in our home. My husband remedied that quickly and we now listen to these adventures every week.
Each CD has a great adventure based on a true missionary experience. The stories share the danger and beauty of God’s grace and love for each one of us.
The Brinkman Adventures are available here for you to listen, download and purchase for a recommended donation. However, the heart of the Bultman family (the family behind The Brinkman Adventures) is to truly give everyone an opportunity to learn about God’s love and the gospel. Therefore, you can not afford the recommended donation, they ask that you donate what you are able to give.
In addition to purchasing the CDs for your home, you can encourage your local radio stations to play The Brinkman Adventures. You can also learn about the stories behind the adventures , watch behind the scene videos and download some free printables. You can also join them on their Facebook page here–> Brinkman Adventures
For years my husband and I have been reading missionary stories to our children and praying for more ways to engage them in the work of Christ: building his kingdom and sharing the Gospel with others. We have friends who are missionaries and have prayed about going on mission trips. But, these cd’s have really sparked some amazing conversations in our home and the desire in one child to really pray over God placing them in the mission field.
How are you teaching your children about the mission field?
