Finding real love, true love is something that almost every person begins to do from the first moment they are born. As a baby, it is out of necessity, but as a child, adolescent/teen – and adult, the reason to look for love changes.
We are all looking for love, the reasons we are looking for love, really do not matter. We just know, we need to fill a hole in our heart with something. Some of us search for it in the world through money, fame, honor and things that go bling. Others look for it in churches, occults, etc.
Many find it and many do not.
But, what are we really looking for? Are we looking for REAL love? Or are we looking for a cheap imitation of the true love God created us to experience?
Or, after we have looked and been hurt time and time again, do we just stop and allow our hearts to become hardened.
In this world, this fallen world, I think many get lost looking for love. We have this idea that once we find real love (true love), our world will be perfect and we will live happily ever after. But perfection and happily ever after do not exist in this world.
Contentment and a love that is ever lasting through eternity does exist, but it isn’t the love the world tells us to seek. It’s sad to say that the love the world knows and pushes is cheap and dishonoring to every single man and woman on this planet.
For those moms and wives living in the midst of a crisis, that is a heart hurt that digs deep into the pit of the soul. Their desire to love and be loved is one that runs deep and has hurts that all too often no one around them understands. So, they pour out love and eventually fade away because they are so tired of rejection and the pain of the crisis is too much to bear alone.
And for other moms and wives who have never experienced a crisis, they too suffer from the hurts of others and even hurts they have caused.
Not one of us is perfect.
But, there is a perfect love- a real love. This love is one that poured out all and is given freely, but will cost us everything we have. It doesn’t promise a perfect ending here on earth. But it does promise a perfect eternity…
Today, I am sharing with you a Prayer Journal for Mothers - Finding Real Love. I pray it blesses you as you walk through this journey and the upcoming ‘month of love’. Let’s celebrate the love of Jesus. let’s walk through His words and see His truth about love.
