Since I know Jeannie Kaye, I didn’t think that would be a problem and I was absolutely right.
So, last month, when we were in the middle of surviving our renovation Jeannie sent me an email asking if I would give her my honest opinion about her book. After a few little messages back and forth, she didn’t hear from me, until I finally sent her a message telling her:
“I could not put the book down.“
Ever Locked is a sweet (and suspenseful) book based on a young woman who is engaged. Her engagement is fraught with deception, greed and the desire of two young people needing (or wanting) to please their parents. As always, when a heart is focused on God, he has a way of pulling people into his desires and ensuring their lives are focused on his purpose for them.
And, that is exactly what happens.
Iris is the lead character, in Ever Locked, who is engaged to Trip. Trip is an up and coming (millionaire) bachelor, who has the world at his fingertips. But, there’s a catch for Trip’s trust fund – he must be married by a certain age and he and his mother have chosen Iris to be the winning bride. However, Iris learns that the Trip she fell in love with is not the real man behind the smile and sweetness, but a monster lies within. A monster that grew out of years of mistreatment and a need for greed and power.
In walks Alonzo.
A young man with a past. And a gardener…
Through an interesting twist and some turn of events God leads these three individuals and others through a journey that helps bring healing and shows that His will should be the one we are seeking – not the will of our parents.
Jeannie Kaye does a great job in sharing the hearts of these characters and identifying the love and passion that grows, without stepping into the depths of soft porn. This would be a great book for any woman. It’s also a great book to help others learn the warning signs of abuse.
I was so happy I had this book to read during our renovation. It gave my brain a break from the day to day cleaning. I was unable to focus on my other books and had basically set my reading aside for a while. And, I have to say, it reminded me of my early years with my husband and helped me remember that my own love life needs to have a flame burning and my heart should be Ever Locked for my God and my husband.
