Dear Mom in a crisis, I’m talking to you today.
Yes, you. Yes, I know you’re ducking your head not wanting to talk about the crisis that is occurring right now in your home threatening the very life you have been given.
I know, I’ve been there.
I used to think, if I don’t talk about it, think about it, pray about it, it will just go away. If I just ignore the chaos being caused by the non-stop crisis that will not go away, it will. It will disappear.
But, it doesn’t
It’s there, bigger than life, like a big elephant in the middle of the room.
It threatens every conversation, every smile, every.single.moment.of.peace and it wakes you up in the middle of the night – you, there in a puddle of cold sweat.
Today, I want you to know. You have no control over the chaos. The problems in your life (caused by others) are not your responsibility. How you respond to it is.
As a mother who has experienced devastation in my own home, witnessing the impact on my own children, I have slowly, but found the truth of the matter – I can not control the actions of another person. I can’t control my husband, my children, friends, family, acquaintances or strangers.
I have learned to let it go and truly let God.
I have learned to love and be loved.
I have learned to share and seek others who need to release the bondage they are in due to hiding the truth of what is going on in their lives.
And I want you to know right now – whether it’s a spouse, a child, a friend, or anyone causing the crisis in your life, you are not responsible for their actions. You are responsible for yourself, for seeking God, praying to Him and applying his truth to your life and fulfilling His great commission.
Beyond that, you can not hold on to the thought that you are responsible for the actions of another person. You can pour into your family the truth of God’s word daily. It’s up to them to listen and seek Him.
It’s up to God to open their eyes and ears and it’s also up to Him to open their hearts to His truth.
- Let go of fear and hand it over to God
- Let go of guilt, you can not control their response
- Let go of all that is false and untrue
- Let Go!
Please know, sweet Mom – you are loved. God hears your prayers. Sometimes, He delays in answering and other times He answers in ways that we can not understand.
But, He is always there. Please note, this post contains affiliate links. See disclosure for full information
