I had a different post scheduled for today. The one I thought would be perfect…the one that’s been sitting and staring me in the face. If you blog, you know what i mean….just when you think the time is right, you start finalizing…polishing… then the doorbell rang….
and the mail man left a package. I saw the return name/address…and wondered what it was…and as I opened it…I knew, my ‘perfect’ post was not meant for this week.
Inside the package was a sweet note that made me cry…but, that wasn’t really what made me change direction. What was in that package contained an answer to a prayer, I had never spoken aloud…to anyone…
A prayer shawl….
A Shawl…as a heart prayer, really? Well, my Mother had one…one that my Aunt made her. I have no idea what happened to it. But, I have often felt, if I could wrap it around me….I would feel her hugs and hugs of the Father….
I have never shared that with anyone. Never shared the heart-felt prayer that I would some day find that prayer shawl…or one to wrap around me….
The note that came with it said: “God has put your name on my heart of late to pray for. Here is a prayer shawl I made for you.”
On Monday, I wrote a post…about friends I have made through my blog. Reading someone’s blog truly gives you insight to their heart…their prayers….and sometimes, you get a chance to really connect, either in real life or other means. I have yet to meet this friend in Real Life, but I pray God will open my heart and ears….for a prayer she has….that I can extend a branch of his vine and provide for her! Perhaps one day, the miles between us…will disappear, we can sit together, in prayer…the bond that has brought two souls together, worshiping the Father and lifting others up to him!
So, she answered this prayer…just a few short days after the third anniversary of my Mom’s leaving us…..and gave me this beautiful reminder….
8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5
He is here for you too, my friends…anyone reading this. He promises to never leave or forsake you. No matter what you are going through…and he will answer your prayers in ways you never imagined!
