The days can pass quickly, can’t they?
Each one can be random and completely out of control unless we have a plan or a purpose.
Each day, I begin with a plan, a desire to start my day in the silence with the Father. Lately, that silence has not truly been silence, one of working, writing and chores.
I sit, I read…my mind wanders
I read more, I begin a prayer (1236)
and the wandering begins again.
Tasks to be completed…..and
moments that I have enjoyed with my family…. (1237)
and I pray
to submit, to receive the peace that I know is there…. (1238)
it’s a season
a season of being busy….in many different ways (1239)
blessings God has brought to my home. (1240)
and I fight for clarity and purpose
to remain true to the purpose for which I began this journey of writing and sharing
to share his love and truth with you….
through our lives and our homeschool
through our imperfections and at times our triumphs 1241-42)
yet, it is all fleeting, isn’t it…..
This past weekend was filled with wonderful memories and as beautiful and amazing as it was….it is a memory now
I’ve captured some pictures to share….but, I’ve been putting the camera down, as I have shared in the past
I’m in the action, the hugs, the moments…..
And so, the retelling of our story begins….
Friday night, we took a family road trip (not far, just about 45 minutes) to Stone Mountain. We recently joined a new church and the congregation met there for some fun fellowship.
On the way down, my husband and I had a little fun…he called one of his buddies (who is a member at our church and a long time friend) and left him a message telling him we were sitting in his driveway…at the time he told us to be there…and we were confused.. I followed this up with a text to his wife, who is a very dear friend: “We are in your driveway…where are you?”
Well, within a few minutes, my husband’s phone rang…our friends were so concerned that they did not remember telling us to meet them there and to please forgive them.
We couldn’t take it any longer…we both burst out laughing (1243)
I think that’s the first time…the joke’s ever been on them…. we’re waiting to see what they come up with in return!!! (they have such sweet hearts, they were truly worried they had forgotten something….but, it was all in good fun….and we had a good laugh at the base of the mountain)
We spent the evening running around the grass, laughing, sharing stories…and my two oldest had run off with their friends…. eventually, I slumbered over to where they were and I found this group of girls dancing under the mountain.
They were quite good…and i noticed one was leading the pack. She was really getting into the groove and teaching the other girls. Including some teens…who were watching and jumped in to follow this little girl….who seemed to really know what she was doing.
Well, to my shock…that little girl was my girl. I was watching her move and was like “WOW…that girl can dance”…when I realized it was my sweet one…well, I was confused…did I want her to be able to dance that well…and “WHERE DID SHE LEARN THAT?” (1244)
We had a few giggles……
And the night ended and morning came. This time was a sweet time with me and my little guy. We went for a walk and he began to notice the bees on flowers…..
I asked him if he knew what they were doing…
His response: Yes, Mommy, they are pollinating.” My response was…where did you learn that….he said “YOU taught me” (1245)
That made this mama heart glow to know…he is listening and learning, even in the midst of his youthful play!!
But, the weekend was about Daddy….
and how do I share this…
I am spoiled….it’s been a long road getting here, but I am blessed beyond measure.
My husband LOVES grilling…so, while I would love to say I spoiled him rotten….I”ll let the picture speak for the truth….
Yes…that’s me, reading while my husband grills our dinner! (1246)
Did you catch my numbers through this post? Those are my blessings…..
What are your blessings? Did you discover something this weekend you were unaware of?
